Marble, Merlot & Marble Globes

A formal dining room shot at eye level, right down at the tabletop, and it pays off — you feel like you have just been seated. Amyelle Atheria centres the composition on a sweeping oval table in white Calacatta marble with heavy grey-gold veining, ringed by deep merlot velvet chairs whose curved backs are wrapped in a band of polished brass. The colour pairing does all the heavy lifting: cold stone against warm wine, softened by the brass. Overhead, a cluster chandelier of marbled glass globes on a brass arm sets the tone for the whole room, and its material is echoed in the tall marble-panelled wall frames on either side. The far wall holds a large abstract canvas in black, gold leaf and crimson — a deliberate colour bridge back to the chairs. The table itself is styled like a real dinner service: layered chargers, gold flatware, tumblers, a champagne bucket on ice, a bowl of green apples for contrast, and two ribbed vases of dark burgundy foliage. The detail that sells it is the linen runner. A single strip of soft ribbed texture down the middle of the marble stops the surface from reading as cold, and gives the eye somewhere to rest between all the reflective materials.
